Audio drama and podcasts are the ideal vehicle for Rupert to showcase his acting talents, as well as his knack for characters, accents and impressions.
Rupert has performed in over fifty BBC Radio 4 productions, collaborating numerous times with Dirk Maggs on productions such as The Gemini Apes opposite Christopher Lee, The Glittering Prizes opposite Tom Conti and Miranda Richardson, The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists opposite Timothy Spall and Johnny Vegas (image below), Dirk Gently opposite Harry Enfield and Olivia Colman and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. He played Rizla in the BBC radio production of The Brightonomicon opposite David Warner, Jason Isaacs and Andy Serkis, and he played Pantalaimon in the full cast audio production of His Dark Materials alongside author and narrator Philip Pullman. He also guests in Audible’s 2017 full cast audio production of The X-Files.
In 2018 Rupert co-wrote, produced and directed the black comedy series Grovers Mill, a true-crime satire about a forensic psychic investigating the moon landing conspiracy – with some help from Orson Welles!
